Baby Big Bird -- R.I.P.

I forgot to mention the horrific travesty that did unfortunately occur at Emily's birthday party...

Baby Big Bird was involved in a tragic accident right before we sang "Happy Birthday" and lit the cake. Let's just say that he was... um... decapitated. It was really something to see a team of about four "surgeons" desperately trying to reattach poor Big Bird's head and save his life on the counter in Grandma's kitchen! After an unsuccessful operation which solely consisted of an open flame (after all, Big Bird was made of wax), we all had to face the hard truth that Big Bird was, in fact, gone.

Later in the evening, however, a miracle occurred! One of the surgeons (a.k.a. Ken) successfully reattached Big Bird's head and consequently brought him back to life!! Ken's skillful hands and a toothpick (not fire) were the magical tools that saved the bird. Everyone jumped for joy! Big Bird was back with us!!

Sadly though, the next day, Big Bird did die once again. This time, it was for good.

We'll never forget you, Baby Big Bird!!

Too bad Uncle Jaime & Uncle Rich weren't around to lead the surgical team...
