Flickr

As many people have noticed, I stopped uploading our pictures to Flickr a long, long time ago. (I stopped uploading regularly last summer. It'll be a year soon!) My sister commented here that I need to share all these pictures that I've been holding on to, and that's what I'm currently working on.

I'm not really sure why I quit "doing" Flickr. I guess I just got too preoccupied to be on the computer much. Last year, soon after I stopped uploading, it seemed like all kinds of things happened: we went to Boston for a couple weeks; the SoCal fires happened; all the holidays... and then this year we had birthdays, including Leah's birth; lots of houseguests... and all the while, I've sorta been busy being a mom. ;-)

I miss doing my online activities, though, and I hope I can get caught up on Flickr. It's a daunting task, but their new Uploadr seems to be much improved and should help out a lot.

Anyway, please bear with me. I'll try my best. And stay tuned on Flickr for lots of (old) pictures!

I Think We're Alone Now...

... There doesn't seem to be anyone a-rou-ound...

Stephen's up in the desert. He left last night and comes home tomorrow evening. This is the second time I've ever been alone in the house (not technically alone -- I do have Em & Xyno -- but alone as in without him), and this time I'm not afraid like the last. (Which is strange, for various reasons which I won't go into right now...)

I'm sorry I've been MIA for the past month and a half. We went on a big trip out to the Midwest for my mother- & father-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary, and ever since we returned home, it seems life for us Lawlesses has been non-stop. We've had guests, parties, barbecues, concerts at the Lake, dinners with friends, swim days, beach days... I could go on and on. I also haven't been motivated to do much of anything (anything productive, that is) since we got home. Actually, now that Mom, Dad, Z & G have gone on their vacation, our "party life" has slowed down a bit, which is nice (not that they're gone, but just that things are more quiet lately).

It's funny, but it seems like I'm actually getting more done with Stephen gone. Of course I'd rather have him home; I just think it's interesting. I've felt more motivated to get the housework done, and I've even been working on my Flickr account a lot today and last night (and of course now I'm blogging, which I haven't done since June 10th!). The reason why I get the online stuff done more easily when Stephen's gone is simple: I accomplish more after Em goes to bed, and when Stephen's home, I like to go to bed when he does. But since he's gone, I don't mind going to bed late (REALLY late), so I have a couple or even a few hours to do stuff after the little one has gone off to Dreamland. Why I get more chores done around the house is not so easily explained, though. Hmm.

Speaking of
Flickr, what a great little site! My sister-in-law, Sharon, first introduced me to it months ago, and then my other sister-in-law, Alicia, reintroduced it recently. I decided to take a look at it, and once I did, I decided to play around with it. Once I did that, I was hooked. (Thanks a lot, guys!! ;-) Stephen likes it too, so we decided to go ahead and pay the $25 for a year's subscription. (They offer a free account, too, but if you have as many photos as we do, you'd quickly realize that the paid -- they call it "pro" -- account is very necessary. Okay, not necessary, but highly desirable!) Go ahead and check out our account. (I warn you, I have many pictures up already -- 190 to be exact, and I plan on uploading more tomorrow!) I haven't put any of my photos into albums yet (they call them "sets"), but I will do so soon. What I'm really looking forward to is scanning all my old family photos that are collecting dust and putting them up on the site. That way, I (and anyone else who so desires) can look at them whenever I want, in a very convenient way. They'll also be preserved. I can't wait to get started on that project!

Okay, I think I'm gonna go off to bed now. I hope to start blogging on a more regular basis, but something tells me that it may be a while before that happens. I guess we'll see!
