Kisses, Not Bites!

She's actually outgrown this stage by now, but a few months ago, Emily was all too eager to bite her Mommy.

If my thumb was easily accessible, or if she wanted to play around while nursing, I would inevitably be in pain in no time at all!

"No bite, Emily!!" I would scold. "No bites, kisses." And I would try to get her to press her lips to me rather than sink her little teeth into my skin. "Kisses, Emily, NOT bites!"

I think it worked. Except for one time the other day when she was half-asleep, she hasn't bitten me while nursing in weeks (maybe even months!). She hadn't bitten my thumb in a while, either, until yesterday. Hmm.
