The Cook's Thesaurus


Speaking of cool websites, here's another. I found this interesting one through Parenting magazine.

It's pretty much a food dictionary, but the kinda cool thing about it is that it gives food substitute suggestions for those times that you don't have a particular ingredient. (For example: You don't have cinnamon? Foodsubs.com says that nutmeg would work in its place.)

I'm not a cook. The problem is, I guess, that I don't know how to cook. I think I'd like to take a class someday. That sounds like it'd be sorta fun.

Anyway, for you cooks out there, this site seems like it just might come in handy sometime. So bookmark it! You may find yourself running out of comino and learn that (half as much of) caraway seeds would work for you instead. :-)
