Too Attached?

Tomorrow's our anniversary. I'd like to go out with Stephen to dinner (The Cheesecake Factory) and a movie (I'd love to see "North Country" -- Charlize Theron & Frances McDormand are supposed to be spectacular in it), but then again, I do NOT want to leave the baby.

Which makes me wonder... is this healthy for her to be so attached? Is it healthy for me? And on the flip-side, is it healthy for me to be so attached? Is it healthy for her?

The thought of leaving her for more than a few hours doesn't sound appealing to me. I'd miss her. I'd miss her a lot. And if I were to miss her, what fun would I be on our date? And if she were to miss me, what fun would she be for her caretakers (i.e. Grandma Rivera & Aunt Cecilia)? I'd probably be distracted and Em would probably be a bear. She'd probably cry the better part of the evening. On top of everything else, I wouldn't want to put anyone through that heartache!

Our neighbor mentioned that she would like to go to The Haunted Trail with her husband, me & Stephen. She said she'd get a sitter for their two kids and "Maybe your mom could watch Emily". I dunno... the thought of standing in line for hours, paying $25 for tickets for me & Stephen, and again, leaving Emily all that time just does not sound good. I think I'm gonna have to pass on that one.

For tomorrow though, we'll see.

Funny, because for our anniversary this year, John left work early and we went to a movie (the Penguin movie) and out to dinner as a family. It's kinda like our family's birthday, right? Then we went out to dinner as a couple on the weekend. Both days were really nice - we're always up for a party. :)

That sounds like fun! What a neat idea. And yes, you're right, it is pretty much our family's birthday!

BTW, how was the Penguin movie? It looks pretty cute. :-)

I liked the Penguin movie, but honestly, it was a little slow for the little guys. Once the baby penguins were born (half way through) things picked up a lot though. Wow, I've gotta give the camermen credit for hanging out in Antarctica all winter to make the movie!!!
