What kind, good-hearted Christian folk we've got here in San Diego.
I'm so proud.
From the Trib:
"At one point, the opponents [of the ordinance], standing behind a Mexican flag, chanted 'USA! USA! USA!' From the other side, people shouted, 'Liars! Liars! Liars!'"
These people have no shame.
I guess they've never heard this poem before. Either that, or they just don't give a damn. It's okay that their ancestors came to this country from faraway lands (in fact, it's great, 'cause now they're here!), but as for those mud folk down south of the border, fuggetaboutit.
I love what attorney Roy Garrett said at the ordinance meeting:Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
"No God says let them do your work then sleep in the canyon! Nobody's God!"
He's right. My God certainly wouldn't say that.
Would yours?

Southern California's anti-immigaration policies make me sick. Are people never happy unless they have a target to hate? We mock & disrespect countries who close their borders, and yet that is exactly where this country is heading. Shame on Escondido & on Costa Mesa!
